Shahrir suggests that 'Namewee' apologise on YouTube

Johor Baru Member of Parliament Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad today suggested that “Namewee”, who was rapped for mocking the Negaraku in a video clip on YouTube, post his apology on the popular website.
He said if Wee Meng Chee or “Namewee” was able to make a video of himself singing the national anthem interspersed with rap and then post it on the website, he could also do the same to apologise to Malaysians. “We were only informed that he had apologised. Is it true that he really apologised? He can do it by posting his apology on the website,” he told reporters after flagging off 110 high-powered motorcycles on a Merdeka expedition organised by the Segamat Bikers Club today. Shahrir, who is also Umno Supreme Council member, however said the solution to the “Namewee” issue should be based on the law whether the student had committed any offence. Meanwhile, Gelang Patah Umno division chief, Aziz Sapian, said the division which held an emergency meeting yesterday has called on the government to strip Taiwan-based student of his citizenship.
“We want the government to strip Wee of his Malaysian citizenship for insulting the Malays and Islam in the country,” he told Bernama today
